  • The Textile Technology Center, in conjunction with Len Furlough, IMS Associate, is pleased to announce a series of seminars designed to assist textile firms improve productivity, quality, and to increase the knowledge and skill base for their associates. Workshops will be held throughout the months of February, March, and April.

  • Hong Kong Fashion Week Spring/Summer will be held July 8-11, 2008 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2009 offers the perfect platform to merchandise your company as well as plug into the latest trends and market intelligence. The previous event attracted more than 1100 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions.

  • Techtextil North America was held April 1-3, 2008 at the Cobb Galleria Center in Atlanta, GA. Techtextil is the world's biggest and most successful International Trade Fair for Technical Textiles and Nonwovens. IMS Managing Director, Jorman Fields, chaired a session titled "Concerns of Expanding Globally," as part of a symposium to be held in conjuction with the conference.

  • International Market Solutions (IMS), in conjunction with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), held a half-day conference related to the North Carolina textile and apparel industry and beyond and trade expansion opportunities. The event took place Wednesday, October 24 at the Sheraton Four Seasons Hotel in Greensboro, NC.

  • Hardy Poole, IMS Associate, presented "Protective Textiles - Opportunity for Imagination" at the Dornbirn Man-Made Fibers Congress (Dornbirn-MFC)in Dornbirn, Austria, September 19-21. The Dornbirn-MFC is positioned as the leading European/American platform for the presentation of fiber innovations with industrial relevance. IMS Managing Director, Jorman Fields, was also in attendance.

  • On July 18 and 19, Darrel Collier, Managing Director of International Market Solutions, attended the summer Board Meeting of the American Fiber Manufacturers Association in Washington DC. Over 40 leaders of the synthetic fiber industry in the United States were in attendance to discuss such topics as the Korean Free Trade Agreement and other US trade initiatives.


  • Jorman Fields, IMS Managing Director, attended the International Exhibition of Textile Machinery in Munich, Germany, September 13-20. ITMA is the world’s largest international textile machinery exhibition, an event which is owned by CEMATEX. ITMA is recognised as the ‘Olympics’ of the textile machinery industry – a showcase of the latest technology and a vital meeting place for buyers and sellers from all over the world.

  • Techtextil - Frankfurt was held June 12-14. IMS Managing Director, Jorman Fields, and IMS Associate, Joey Fields, were in attendance.   • Representatives from International Market Solutions attended the SAMPE '07 Conference and Exhibition in Baltimore, MD, June 3-7. The Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE®)is an international professional member society, providing information on new materials and processing technology either via technical forums, journal publications, or books in which professionals in this field can exchange ideas and air their views.

  • IMS Managing Director, Stephen Metzger will deliver a presentation on "Global Trends in Small, Task-Oriented Vehicle Markets and Manufacturing" at the Hong Kong International Auto Parts Fair, April 28-May 1. The presentation is scheduled for Sunday, April 29. Mr. Metzger has authored three major studies in the area of small, task-oriented vehicles, with a new study due to be published in September.
    The trade show and exhibition is sponsored by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council with objective of demonstrating the manufacturing resources of Hong Kong in the automotive parts field and the capacity of Hong Kong to become a base of operations for sourcing throughout China proper.

  • The Hosiery Association's 102nd Annual Convention will be held in Charleston, South Carolina, April 26-29. The Hosiery Association (THA) is the premiere, trusted source of information global industry leaders rely on.   • The National Council of Textile Organizations (NCTO) annual meeting was held in Washington, DC, April 23-25. With the recent election results and heightened public concerns about the impact of trade, the trade agenda is shifting. At the annual meeting, NCTO reviewed how the textile industry can take advantage of this shift.

  • IMS representatives attended the American Fiber Manufacturers Association Spring Board Meeting in Washington D.C. on April 18 and 19. Attending were more than 45 leaders of the synthetic fiber industry in the United States. Meetings were held with Representative Robin Hayes and Senator Sandy Levin to discuss current trade issues and the pending Korean Free Trade Agreement.


  • The National Petrochemical and Refiners Association (NPRA) in San Antonio from March 25-27 will be attended by representatives from International Market Solutions. The Conference is the world's largest and most prestigious meeting representing the petrochemical industry. The meeting consists of a variety of sessions covering key political, economic, and environmental issues affecting the petrochemical industry.

  • IMS attended the Golf Industry Show in Anaheim, CA, February 21-24. IMS's focus was on the small, task-oriented vehicle exhibitors and will be covering the show for Industrial Utility Vehicle magazine. These vehicles range from golf cars to a wide variety of utility vehicles. This rapidly growing industry is characterized by many new and improved technologies which are being applied well beyond the golf industry, per se.

  • MAGIC was held in Las Vegas, Nevada from February 13-16 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. It is the fashion industry's number one event and more than 115,000 attendees from around the world were in attendence.

  • Outdoor Retailer Winter Market was held January 27-30, 2007 in Salt Lake City, Utah. This was the largest winter show since its inception in 1990, with the most innovative outdoor products and companies in the world present.

  • IMS attended the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, FL, January 24-27,2007 and covered the show for Industrial Utility Vehicle magazine. IMS's principal focus was on golf cars, utility vehicles, and accessories for these vehicles. Small, task-oriented vehicles, particularly electric-powered units, are an area of IMS expertise.

  • Fiber Technology 2006 was held in Charlotte, NC, October 10-11, 2006. The focus of this conference was on innovations in fibers and textiles in the market areas medical textile products and performance apparel.   • Industrial Utility Vehicle Conference was held in Chicago, September 21-22, 2006. The theme of this conference was new directions in design and engineering of industrial utility vehicles and mobile equipment.   • Techtextil North America 2006. This biannual conference was held on March 29-April 1, 2006 in Atlanta. It was generally considered the most successful and most highly attended conference in the series of seminars and exhibits in the history of the program. IMS Directors, Stephen Metzger and Jorman Fields, headed up a panel of industry and U.S. government experts discussing the challenges of effective entry and expansion in the international arena.
