Leadership Team:
Darrel Collier, IMS Managing Director
In his more than twenty-five years with DuPont’s Fibers
Division, Mr. Collier had profit and loss responsibility for several
large (> $200 million) divisions and businesses in both the
domestic and international arenas.
His experience includes more than fifteen years of international
focus involving multiple expatriate executive positions in Mexico,
building and leading joint ventures and wholly-owned businesses.
In addition, his experience in the international arena includes
managing global sales and procurement, developing and refining
global supply chains between operations in the United States and
Latin American and between the United States and Asia. Mr. Collier
also managed international marketing efforts in Mexico and in
Asia.
In the area of international corporate development, he helped
structure international merger and acquisition projects in Mexico,
Brazil, and Japan and restructured global manufacturing assets
located in the United States, England, Germany, Mexico, Brazil,
Argentina, Taiwan and Japan. Mr. Collier led a $200 million capital
expansion in Mexico, and developed businesses and organizations
from scratch in Mexico and India.
Mr. Collier also served as an executive director on five different
international business boards, as well as trade groups like the
American Man-Made Fibers Association, and has provided leadership
and direction to synthetic fiber and textile industry groups in
international trade negotiations (including NAFTA and CAFTA).
In 2004, Mr. Collier launched his own consulting firm (DBC Associates
Inc.) to provide consulting services to U.S. and Latin American
petrochemical, synthetic fiber, and textile companies. In 2006,
as a natural extension of DBC Associates, Mr. Collier became a
Founding Partner and is currently serving as Managing Director
of International Market Solutions (IMS). In addition, Mr. Collier
also serves as contributing editor of the Tecnon OrbiChem Synthetic
Fibers Monthly Newsletter.
Mr. Collier received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical
Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
He currently resides with his wife, Mary, and two sons in Charlotte,
North Carolina and is active in coaching youth sports.
